He did not have long to marvel at this new weapon developed by his adversaries. Clifton Green kicked the back door open and jumped out with his machine-gun's trigger pulled. Nevindoss moved so quickly that he appeared to vanish. In an instant he stood behind Green and ripped the weapon from his hand. Again the vampire slammed the door shut and threw the officer against the wall. He removed the clip and inspected the top bullet for a moment before putting it in his pocket. Green picked himself up and drew his sword. Nevindoss walked over to him.

"Your move."

Green made the first swing with his samurai sword, missed and quickly turned around to face Nevindoss again. He then realized that his weapon and hands were missing. While he pondered his loss in a state of shock, Nevindoss sheathed his own blade and picked up Green's. He held the sword with the blade's flat edge parallel to the ground and stuck it through the driver's chest to the handle. Picking him up by the sword, Nevindoss carried Green to a nearby telephone pole. He touched the tip of the blade to the pole and effortlessly pushed it through like a red-hot knife through a honeycomb. He pushed the sword until Green's back was pressed against the wood.

While Nevindoss faced Green, Duvall threw a kick at the back of his head. Without looking, the vampire blocked the kick with his own foot, grabbed Duvall's leg with his own and
