Young Vincent Perez was one of the technicians on the clock in OPS. While the others in the room watched the action on the center monitor, a dot on the AGS positional map caught Perez's eye.

"Heads up. Big, bright red dot on the map. Moving west. Looks like the big bat is going to the party."

Perez put the map on the big screen. Everyone else's attention was riveted to the bright red dot as it moved quickly from right to left.

In the conference room Eric was suddenly very interested. He banged the button to open the intercom.

"Confine the scan to whatever grid he's in. Update his location every five seconds. And tell them to get out of there, NOW!! Nevindoss is on the way!!"

The officers in the patrol vehicle heard Eric yelling. The driver prepared to back out of the alley. Flanagan looked confused.

"Hey. What about that fire?" he asked.

Clifton Green, the vehicle's driver, aimed a water cannon at the flames and turned it on. A high velocity stream of water treated with a flame-retardant chemical quickly doused the fire.

Still concerned Flanagan asked, "Now what about the looters?"
